Dodd Group’s commitment to supporting the communities in which it operates reached out to the schools of Coventry at the recent Your Future, Your Choice careers’ day at the Ricoh Arena.
The event, organised by Business in the Community gave over 1,000 young people the opportunity to gain information and insight in to sectors and job roles which is imperative when thinking about what options they will take at school.
Dodd Group were on hand to give an insight in the types of careers available within the M&E sector, including those which may not be immediately apparent to school children including HR, AutoCad technicians, accounts and even marketing. There were also interactive demonstrations for the children to try their hands at pipe jointing and cable laying provided by Dodd Group Project Supervisors Dave Farrington and Dave Heathcock and Senior Engineer Lee Johnson with advice and guidance from Mary-Anne Clayton, HR Manager, Jennifer Farmer, Compliance Coordinator, Debra Bridgewater, Business Development Manager and Mark Davies, Operations Director.
Business In the Community’s Jayne Magee was delighted with the support that local companies such as Dodd Group were able to provide stating “Well done and thank you to all the businesses, partner organisations and staff team who made our ‘Your Future, Your Choice’ careers event at the Ricoh a resounding success. Over 1000 young people from Business Class schools in Coventry benefited.” She continued “ To see so many young people engaging in activities and asking questions was wonderful to see”.
Dodd Group’s Managing Director John Kavanagh who was on hand to lend his support and offer advice commented “ I am really pleased that Dodd Group were able to get involved in such a worthwhile event.
